Press and release the "SMART" button. Go to the keypad and press your 4 digit PIN number & "ENTER", "ENTER". Model 976LM's can also be programmed without a ladder, directly from the multi-function control panel Simply enter your pre-selected code and press and hold the ENTER button on your keyless entry. Then press and hold the LIGHT button and the push button on your multi-function control panel. Press and hold the main push bar on the wall control. The garage door opener lights will flash to confirm that the keyless entry has been successfully programmed. To remove old transmitter and/or keypad codes: Press and hold the SMART button until the small light goes out. Try a transmitter to make sure the old code has been erased. Press and release the "SMART" button on the back of the motor. Press the transmitter button twice (repeat this step for each additional transmitter or keypad).
